Obligations regarding GDPR regulations towards job applicants

Did you know that it is mandatory to provide a job applicant with the necessary information regarding collected data, what happens to that data, retention period, applicant rights,… before each job application?

Yep, it is mandatory to provide the job applicant with all the necessary information before each job interview or application for that matter. The easiest way to do this is to include a link to the relevant GDPR-compliant information/document on each job advertisement.

This information must be clear and transparent and must include, among other things, what data you collect (from CV, during job interview, from assessments,…), what happens to that data, how long the data is stored, who has access to it, how the applicant can access and delete this data, etc. And if you use assessment-tools, make sure that these are also fully GDPR compliant, including the assessment organisation that stores and processes the data; very (very!) few of them are GDPR-compliant.

These obligations are not just a legal formality; applicants deserve to know how their data is being handled. This not only builds trust, but also strengthens your reputation as a (future) employer or acclaimed recruiter.

So, HR professionals, recruiters and, by extension, all organisations operating in the EU, are you ready to take the next step in mandatory transparency processing? Our professionals are ready to advise you on this matter. Contact Us for more information.
